Umani is a Japanese rice & noodle bar located on Oxford road in Manchester, I came in for lunch today and from start to finish it was an excellent experience.

The food is good. Tried this week special chilli char siu udon, superb! They can adjust the flavour of the dish according to need (I asked for less spicy option). Dumplings and fired chicken are also nice. Will definitely come back. The little father Christmas peg for the bill is soooo cute 🥰!- Service

The other one you must try is the Braised Beef Rendang.

Great restaurant tucked away on Oxford Road, hidden gem. Tasty food, affordable prices friendly staff. Highly recommend the salt & pepper squid and tempura prawn for starters. The beef rendang dish and katsu curry mains are well portioned and great in flavour. I will revisit.

We are so glad that we found this place, just 8 mins walk from the Manchester Academy on the road with all the University on it. The food is fresh, tasty and made exactly how we like. The chicken gyoza was the best we've ever had. The glass of rose wine was 👌. Dan the waiter made it so special and Tina helped choose from the menu - so helpful!!! We'll be back for more!!!

Fried rice and fried tofu are quite tasty. Curry is also nice. Ramen on the other hand is not so agreeable, and I wouldn’t recommend ordering beverages here. Servers are pretty nice, and the restaurant itself is clean and organized.

First time visiting with a great lunch offer of 2 courses for £10.95. Friendly staff and efficient service went down great with the 10 people in our group. The king prawn katsu starter was a big portion, followed by the chicken pad Thai which was very tasty. Will definitely go back again and like to try the evening meal.

green curry not as nice as chicken rendang tho :(

my favourite sides are the prawn katsu or tempura and the salt and pepper squid.
I took my vegetarian colleagues here for lunch and they said the veggie pad thai, nasi goreng, vegetable ramen and monks broth were also great.
they rotate the lunch menus around weekly so you get to try a bit of everything but you can still order anything from the evening menu.
they also do a takeout rendang beef and rice lunch deal for £4.95 which is insane.
unfortunately they have 2 entrances that are both easily missed but if you find it, you wont regret it!- Service

5 stars all round, the atmosphere and service were brilliant. The food speaks for itself. I would eat here every day if I could, the crispy squid and gyoza went great with the ramen. Kinda hard to find the place but so worth it when you do, 10 stars
